The design of Status 2.0 is key to its functions as an installation. The clean and perfect white shape of the light boxes took influences from minimalist artists such as Donald Judd with reference to works such as Untitled, 1990 and Untitled (Six boxes), 1974.

A number of artificial light installation pieces such as 0 <-> 220 volt by Gianni Colombo 197, Light Box, 2002 by Chiara Dynys and 84 Jahre, 2003 by Tobias Rehberger have all been inspirational works in the creation of Status 2.0.

The rich and warmth created from light bulbs is key to the representation of the emotions, these techniques were implemented to communicate and represent this in its aesthetic installation. The housing of these technologies in organic materials such as cotton and wood help achieve this more aesthetics and human emotion.
